1PostSubject: Last call before supposed earthquake   Fri Jun 03, 2016 2:35 pm

Hi all,

As you may recall, a catastrophic earthquake was forecast for Budapest, Hungary where I stay most of the time these days.
A medium/psychic started it from spontaneous visions, my (former) teacher of Vedic/Hindu astrology concurred strongly and she spread the news in a decisive way among hundreds of people. Budapest has over two million inhabitants, a large river crossing its middle, about a dozen bridges, a hilly side (Buda) and a flat side (Pest). I live on the north edge of Buda in a four-story project pretty upscale in local terms, near the suburban railway.

I kept on asking my Guides and simply my intuition what will happen. I usually have brief flashes or longer dreams which have messages that could usually be translated in a symbolic way.
Months ago I got the message in a spontaneously altered state after relaxing with mantra meditation that I should keep silent. I pretty much did. Since my former teacher (who I still love and respect very much) is so much into this particular prediction, I felt like not debating this except with a couple of closer Hindu astrology colleagues - who happen to live near the projected epicenter. I checked seismology studies and it sounded not completely out of the blue to my surprise. I must also add that I am not experienced in this type of astrology within that careful mythical framework either to contradict or to confirm the prediction.

Over the past few weeks I increasingly got the intuitive feeling that nothing major is going to happen - surely I can see the buildup of tension in astrology but that can take a hundred different forms. In particular I felt that the various currents of national consciousness are changing and maybe this isn't the way they are resolved. Which I and another quiet dissenter debated with my teacher last week peacefully over some sandwiches and tea and coffee in a beautiful spring garden - she always had an aura where she is not an "all-knowing" person and she respects many different opinions.

So I decided to just move my main monitor just in case there are some tremors, but not leave town. Basically even in the original prediction this was not supposed to be a heavily impacted area of the city. I am going to see a young woman for NLP therapy...

All in all, I saw a few brief flashes of vision about water - we had a big flood 3 years ago though it never came up to my house. Events of Germany and France in recent days (torrential rains, floods in cities) allow that as well, similarly to astrology, but I don't bother you with the details. Torrential rains might reach Hungary too. What I saw in my single visionary dream about six months ago was a thin line of fire coming out from a flat hilltop park near the Houses of Parliament - there is none there actually.
It did not look like and EQ so I thought it might even be symbolic. There is politics and all - which I will return to in a separate thread as I usually do, provided we don't get buried under the rubble.

Another vision was simply the time on a clock: 17:23. I had asked my Spirit Guides about the EQ. However, I had the feeling that this particular hour referred not to the EQ but to that very day - I went to see my father which happens rarely these days... he is 80 and lives in a village 30 miles and I was supposed to be on my way by that time.

But in case they happen to be correct, and we get demolished in the concrete building on the afternoon of the fifth of June, this is my farewell thread - to all who helped me and showed my interesting things... maybe we'll meet in the next life under good conditions. I thank you people profusely for all the confirmation, reactions, humor and teaching.

I also have a dog here so I will watch her closely - maybe if she acts very strangely I will grab my laptop and leave the building just in case.
Can you point me to articles about animal behavior before earthquakes?

Love,

Reg

I'm also waiting to see what will happen. The last big earthquake I went through was in the fall of 1989, and I had been predicting for months that a major earthquake would indeed hit the SF Bay area in the fall or winter of that year ... but there was nothing psychic involved. At the time, I was working within a couple of blocks of the local US Geological Survey office and had made several friends on the staff there. According to them, the small earthquakes we were having almost every day at that time fit the pattern for pre-shocks to a big quake ... though they kept saying that the big one might be anything from a couple of week to six months in the future. When the quake itself happened, I was riding in a car with several other people and we thought somethinghad happened to the steering gear, so we stopped as fast as we could and only after that did we realize that everyone else of the road was doing the same.

There are lots of articles about animal behavior before earthquakes, and the best ones I've read say that animals can definitely predict quakes a few minutes or seconds before they happen ... by hearing or feeling vibrations from the quake that are already radiating but not yet perceptive by humans. But as far as I know, no way of accurately predicting exactly when a quake will occur has yet been discovered. Scientists seem to get closer to being able to do this every year, but so far no one has really succeeded.

And the only advice I can give you right now that you are definitely wise in keeping a close eye on your dog as "zero hour" approaches, if she stats acting strangely close to that time, leaving the building "just in case"...

As I felt before, the earthquake was cancelled. Yet the admonitions were very useful.
I just gathered my most valuable documents and my laptop for a couple of hurs and I parked our car a bit away from tall buildings but then I brought it all back upstairs - I feel the watch is over...

i was watching the dog very closely and she just gave the normal reactions when the neighbor's dog came home, nothing alarming.

As person whose mind set is fundamentally Pagan or Eastern Occult, it's easy for me to picture a message going out from a "Throne on High" somewhere with a cancellation order addressed to the minor deity in charge of earthquakes. And also to picture large numbers of ordinary people giving thanks that their prayers had been answered or their magical workings successful...

Look at these beautiful and funny prints of Namazu...
The Greek Poseidon was in charge of earthquakes according to mythology, and he has a trident in his hand similarly to Lord Shiva.

reg, #5, re: "Last call before supposed earthquake ...Look at these beautiful and funny prints of Namazu... (Link to namazu picture: Catfish deity in Japan given in #6)"

These prints are not only wonderful in terms of both artistic and historical significance, they also represent an important stage in the transition between traditional and modern Japanese culture that was taking place at the time. This transition generated more genuinely radical thinking than most, including calls that not only should traditional Japanese writing be replaced by the use of the Latin alphabet, but that English or other Western Languages should gradually replace spoken Japanese. It was also widely suggested that traditional Japanese industrial production by skilled craftsmen should be discouraged by both the government and the consumers, in favor of products made in Western-style factories. When I read about this movement as a child, I actually didn't believe it had ever been a serious politico-economic movement in Japan, but further historical reading confirmed that it had been. This explains why there was a serious attempt by the Japanese government at the time to suppress the Namazu art and literature, and seeing prints of the works themselves brings this whole controversy back to life in my mind.

re: "The Greek Poseidon was in charge of earthquakes according to mythology, and he has a trident in his hand similarly to Lord Shiva."

I grew up treating the Greco-Roman Pagan mythology with the same kind of respect and symbolic acceptance that children who grow up around Jews or Christians treat the mythologies described in the Old and New Testaments, and I remember asking my Great Uncle why he thought Poseidon had been chosen as the patron deity of both the sea and earthquakes. He told me how modern historians believe that the destruction of the ancient Greek civilization on Crete was caused by earthquakes generated by a volcanic eruption on the near-by island of Thera, and that this probably took place at the same time the Greek Pagan cosomology was taking shape. This made perfect sense to me, and of course tridents and other multiple-pronged spears have been used in fishing from caveman days right down to the present.

At the time, I figured that Shiva may also have once been a sea or river god and that's how he ended up with a trident, but when I started studying Hindusim seriously in my late teens and early twenties, I found out this wasn't true at all. If you look at Shiva's Trishul as portrayed in art from the Indus Valley civilization down to to present, it becomes apparent that it isn't a fish spear at all, but simply an ordinary military spear with a very large head divided into three short prongs so it will do maximum damage to the enemies it strikes. The Trishul is often shown in illustrations for the myths as being thrown at people and decapitating them. So it's a good symbol for Shiva as the greatest of the three gods in the Trimurti, and when the Goddess assumes supreme power as Kali Durga, all of the gods give her their symbols of military power. Shiva donates the Trishul, Vishnu his Sudarshana Chakra, etc. And there is actually no "god of earthquakes" in Hindu mythology. They are regarded as being caused by the writhings of the enormous serpent that Vishnu's Lotus dwelling is anchored to ... in other words, more as a natural phenomenon than as deliberate acts by a deity.

As the awaited earthquake did not happen, it is my duty to notify you from the board of my spaceship... I think RR hit the nail on the head when saying a minor god has been notified of the cancellation order.
Tensions and ordeals were coming though, as projected in the moving mythology known as Hindu astrology. Venus caught up with the Sun and passed it - superior conjunction - and apart from successful family quarrels, the cable was cut for more than a day so we had no internet, we had giant storms and my phone battery died. I started to feel renewed only a couple of days later. It is funny - I felt great on the day of the supposed EQ but the days following were very out of synch.

Thanks as always for the mythology update - it makes tremendous sense.

While I am writing this, I am istening to RB's excellent track - I like this more than many quoted techno tracks by famous artists... I am no expert though, my brother is.

It's very common for people to feel fine on the day something stressful is supposed to happen, but they end up feeling weird for several days afterwards. I think the cause is we tend to psych ourselves to deal with something important (be it good or bad) at a particular time, and when the stress suddenly removed, we go into a kind of withdrawal syndrome.
