1PostSubject: What this RR forum is intended to be    Fri Nov 06, 2015 8:54 pm

The Reality Rebel Forum is intended to replace four different existing Web discussion groups, all hosted by me  (Kyle Griffith) under a number of different user names. The oldest is the Revolutionizing Reality Yahoo Group, which I created shortly after I got back on line 2005, but has never been very active. The second is the Reality Checkpoint MSN Group, created in 2006 and moved to Yuku in 2009, which still exists as a read-only archive group linked to  the third group, the Revolutionary Spiritualism Yuku Community, created in 2008, which is also mostly read-only archives, but some discussions still take place there. And the fourth is the No Hold Barred Yuku Community, which is a failed experiment intended to be a discussion group that can thrive and prosper as the Information Revolution continues to reshape the Internet. The only reason the RR Forum is being founded at this time is because the Yuku group hosting service has been offering worse and worse service over the last couple of years, to the point that a lot of its customers are having significant problems getting their Communities to operate properly in real time and are afraid the service may close down like MSN Groups did.

Over the next year or so, I intend to import significant amounts of my writing that's now archived on the other groups and put it in read-only forums. However, I also intend to make a strenuous effort to start a Web discussion group that operates as well as the MSN RC and Yuku RS did in their heyday. I'm not trying to predict exactly what I'll do to accomplish this, because I'm hoping that a considerable number of people will contribute to an evolutionary process simply by posting material that interests them and the other members. And this group's theme is spelled out at the top of the front Page: "Discussions of alternatives to the conventional schools of thought in philosophy, religion, politics, economics, social issues, and arts/entertainment." This is the theme of most of my old writings I'll be archiving here, and I'm also hoping to participate in real time discussions that will also relate to it.
